Innovation Leader: English job summary

Harris Garrard Academy is currently looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced qualified English Teacher to join as Innovation Leader.

Your opportunity

Are you passionate about English and want to inspire students? Join our thriving academy to instil a lifelong love of learning in our students. We are currently looking for a highly dedicated Innovation Leader of English to join our academy.

As innovation leader, you will play a major role in determining future strategy for the department. This is a multi-faceted role, in which you will lead improvement in teaching and learning in English across the academy, including the implementation of innovative “next” practice in literacy for learning. You will promote this practice with the educational community, across the academy, the Harris Federation, and nationally through published articles, workshops and conferences including the Leadership and Innovation hub for London.

What we are looking for

We look for talented individuals who want to be a part of transforming education in London, and helping create exceptional places of learning. The successful candidate will:

Have a minimum of three years' teaching experience, two of which should be at leadership level
Be able to provide evidence of leading, supporting and managing others, both individuals and teams, ensuring high quality performance
Be an enthusiastic and exceptional teacher with a proven track record of excellent results in public examinations
Hold QTS (or equivalent) and a relevant undergraduate degree
