What skills and experience we're looking for
The
Quality First Education (Q1E) Trust is seeking an excellent, experienced KS2
class teacher for Belleville Wix Academy for September 2024, or earlier.
At Belleville Wix Academy we have over 300 pupils, a fantastic staff team and a supportive school community. We share our site with Ecole de Wix, a French primary school, and three streams are offered on site: an English stream, a French stream and a joint bilingual stream provision. We are very proud of our unique bi-cultural ethos however you do not need to speak French to work at our school. It would be wonderful to be able to show you around.
Our well maintained site is situated between vibrant Battersea and the open space ofClapham Common, with excellent transport links. Our proximity to Clapham Junction station gives us easy access to central London and across the south of England.
Please read our Q1E Teacher Pack (see Additional Documents below) for our full role description.
What the school offers its staff
Belleville Wix Academy is an ambitious, vibrant and supportive place to work. Our school has a unique bi-cultural ethos, with a third of our pupils learning through an English/French bilingual stream (note: we always welcome French speaking staff, but it's not a requirement!).
Ofsted say:
- Pupils enjoy coming to school.
- Leaders and staff are determined to ensure every pupil is provided with the best education possible.
- An outstanding start in the early years prepares children exceptionally well.
- Provision for reading and mathematics is exceptionally strong.
- Staff across the trust’s four schools work together to plan their teaching. This sharing of expertise and resources is of much benefit to pupils and keeps staff workload manageable.
At Q1E, we believe that “the quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers” (McKinsey 2007). The recruitment, retention and development of high quality teachers is our highest priority.
Staff wellbeing is very important to us. We provide clear structures, excellent resources and outstanding professional development for our staff. All teachers new to the Trust receive pre-induction training before starting in post. We are an outward facing trust and believe in learning from the best schools and systems - you will have lots of opportunity to watch outstanding practice and get involved in wider projects across our dynamic Trust as well as be supported to progress in your teaching career. There are opportunities for new teachers to take on leadership responsibilities for the right candidate.
We offer a high quality, well-resourced and carefully structured curriculum to support teacher wellbeing. High quality specialist teachers are employed to teach PE, art, computing, music and French. We strive to meet the needs of all our children – doing ‘Whatever It Takes’ to help children fulfil their potential.
We offer a range of staff benefits which include: Teachers’ Pension Scheme; free coffee and tea; free on-site parking; interest free ‘travel to work loan scheme’ and Cycle-to Work Scheme.
