Stephenson Academy provides education for students aged between 9 and 16 years. We are the local SEN provision for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). We pride ourselves on delivering a high-quality curriculum, truly individualised to meet the needs of our students, ensuring successful outcomes for all. We have a cohort of staff who are from all walks of life which has created a truly dynamic and diverse team.

We are seeking:
An individual to:

Lead on the delivery of basic motor vehicle studies which can include health and safety in the work environment, engine building and general maintenance.

Prepare students for an accredited awarding body SEG in Motor Vehicles.

Be responsible for the motor vehicle workshop, maintaining a safe working environment and ensuring that there are sufficient materials and tools available.

Be responsible for the development of schemes of work, lesson planning, the assessment of work and all recording and reporting as well as securing good attendance and maximising course completion.

Stephenson Academy is a successful 80 place special school, which opened in 2012. It has a main site, which caters for 11-16 year olds. We have an associated independent sixth form provision for 16-19 year olds.

As a specialist academy we cater for students who have Education and Health Care Plans with an identified primary need of Social Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties (SEMH), many with associated challenging behaviour. Many of our students have additional special educational needs such as speech, language and communication difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and mental health difficulties
