Internal Inclusion Leader - The Hive job summary

The King’s School is looking for a passionate and committed Internal Inclusion Leader to lead and develop our internal pathways provision, The Hive, our internal provision for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.  

This is a newly created role with real scope to shape and influence practice, offering a unique opportunity to make a profound and lasting difference to some of our most vulnerable learners.  

You will play a key role in driving inclusive practice across the school, supporting students to re-engage with learning and achieve positive outcomes.  

You will lead a nurturing, structured provision that enables students to build confidence, improve engagement, and successfully reintegrate into mainstream education. 

Working closely with the Assistant Headteacher (SENDCo), you will drive both the day-to-day delivery and strategic development of this vital provision, ensuring it has maximum impact for the students who need it most. 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage The Hive, ensuring a safe, structured and aspirational environment for students 
  • Coordinate and quality assure personalised learning pathways and targeted interventions 
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, attendance, behaviour and reintegration outcomes 
  • Line manage and develop staff within the provision, promoting high standards of practice 
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and leaders to support inclusion across the school 
  • Lead on EHCP processes, annual reviews and multi-agency working for students accessing The Hive provision 
  • Build strong relationships with families and external professionals to support student success 
  • Play an active role in shaping the whole-school SEND strategy and strengthening inclusive practice 

About You 

We are looking for a candidate who: 

  • Has experience working within, or leading, a SEND or SEMH provision 
  • Holds a Level 5 SEND qualification (or equivalent) and degree-level education 
  • Demonstrates a strong understanding of inclusive practice and SEND processes 
  • Is skilled in building relationships with young people, families and professionals 
  • Is highly organised, proactive and able to lead and develop others 
  • Shares our commitment to high expectations, inclusion and student wellbeing
