Interventions Instructor – Maths
FIXED TERM – July 2022
30 hours per week – 42.6 weeks (term time + 1 week Inset days + annual leave)
08:10am – 2:10pm daily
£21,330 per annum
(£16.69 per hour)
As a result of a recent resignation and a growing need, we are seeking to appoint Intervention Instructor(s) to support selected students. The role is to provide small groups of interventions to a range of vulnerable students to achieve their full academic achievement in Maths, as well as small groups of Sixth Formers who are re-sitting their GCSE Maths. Working closely with subject teachers and other associated staff you will assist in identifying barriers to learning, and plan and deliver intervention sessions in order to raise aspirations and achievement.
The hours of work can be flexible with a maximum of 30 hours per week. Therefore, please specify in your letter of application the hours of work you are seeking.
The successful candidate will have:
- Successful experience working with children in a school environment
- Educated to at least Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent qualification /experience
- Relevant experience / qualification in the specific subject area –Maths
- Ability to establish rapport and to maintain respectful and trusting relationships
- The ability to overcome barriers to learning with children by implementing school policies, procedures and identified support mechanisms
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
- A passion to improve learning and work collaboratively with teaching staff to aid the progress of all students and develop their confidence
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines
- A good understanding of Health and Safety, safeguarding and child protection
- A commitment to equality and diversity and inclusion
