Intervention Learning Assistant L3 (Reading Recovery) job summary
We are looking for an Intervention Learning Support Assistant to work across Key stage 3 &4 in English in order to maximise the progress of identified disadvantaged students in their English capabilities against national and locally agreed benchmarked targets.
The successful candidate must have strong literacy skills and will be an English graduate or have a strong background supporting students with English. You will also have experience working with students with additional needs including SEND and low and high achievers.
This post is a fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave until Easter 2023. Previous experience of working in an educational setting is desirable but not essential.

Purpose of the Post
To maximise the progress of identified disadvantaged students in their English capabilities against national and locally agreed benchmarked targets.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
1. To meet with the KS3/KS4 English Teacher, before tutoring, to identify areas for development and plan a tailored programme of support. 2. To assist with the design and development of a tailored programme for the student and agree outcomes with the Class Teacher. 3. To liaise with the Class Teacher during the tuition period as required. 4. To track progress of small cohorts of students (approximately 8-12) and communicate with teachers, Head of Faculty, SENDCO, Parents, others as required. 5. To provide specific feedback to class teacher to review progress at the end of the tuition period and next steps. 6. To take a full and active part in the school’s quality assurance process. 7. To attend relevant meetings as required.
Good standard of Education up to GCSE or equivalent including Maths and English - Excellent literacy and numeracy skills Minimum 2 years experience of working with students in an educational setting (within specified age range/subject area)
Relevant degree/NVQ 3/4 or equivalent in supporting teaching and learning in schools, Diploma in Childcare & Education or other relevant qualification in childcare/teaching Training in special educational needs strategies
Good ICT skills to support learning

The school converted to an academy under Rainhill Learning Village in March 2017. More recently, the school has become part of the Stephenson Trust.
The school is the official Liverpool F.C. Academy Education Centre in Merseyside for under-18 players to be educated. Notable former pupils from the academy include Raheem Sterling and Trent Alexander-Arnold. The school has recently partnered with FA FE to strengthen post-16 education for the players. FE FA is owned and run by Robbie Fowler, former Liverpool and England footballer.
In addition to Liverpool FC, it has formal partnerships with Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, Liverpool John Moores University and University of Leeds.
