What skills and experience we're looking for
We are currently looking for 5 Invigilators to join our Trust Wide Team and become instrumental in supporting its continuous growth.
Invigilators create the conditions for our students to perform at their very best in their exams. The successful candidates must be punctual and reliable, have strong interpersonal skills and a calm, organised attitude, be a committed team player and have a good eye for detail. The role of an invigilator is highly regulated and full training will be provided.
Main Duties and responsibilities of an invigilator include:
- Setting up exam rooms in accordance with the Exam Board regulations and guidelines.
- Starting and finishing each allocated examination in accordance with the Exam Board regulations and guidelines.
- Invigilating during examinations, dealing with queries raised by candidates and dealing with examination irregularities in accordance with procedures.
- Ensuring that the examination room is clear and tidied for the next session and that equipment is returned.
- Collection and collation of all scripts.
Invigilation work is available in half-day sessions. Hours may differ throughout the trust but will involve both morning and afternoon sessions.

Since 2014, when Maiden Erlegh Trust was established, we have expanded to become six schools serving Berkshire and South Oxfordshire covering the breadth of educational provision from EYFS to Post-16 in mainstream, special and alternative provision. We also have two new free schools in the pre-opening phase: Oak Tree School which opened in September 2023 (a special school providing 150 places) and River Academy opening in September 2024 (a secondary school in the heart of Reading providing 1,500 places).
Our schools are supported by the Central Services Team at Maiden Erlegh Trust who provide a range of business services and support our partner schools in carrying out their statutory responsibilities and core business functions.
