What skills and experience we're looking for

We currently have an exciting opportunity for two IT Engineers to join our fantastic central team at Prospere Learning Trust.

This is a Grade 4, permanent post working 35 hours per week, term time only plus six weeks. The starting salary is £24,826.

Working hours are 8am - 3.30pm Monday to Friday, across a cluster of three schools, all in and around the Manchester area. Applicants should be aware that interviews will be held in person, therefore, it is preferable that applicants should already live in the Greater Manchester area.

The role is term time only plus six weeks. Term time is 38 weeks when schools are open to pupils, the additional six weeks will be worked across the remaining 13 weeks, specific working days to be agreed with the line manager, dependent upon project work as required across the Trust. These projects are a great opportunity for development of skills and knowledge of our IT systems.

We’re looking for:

Someone who is suitably qualified, and in possession of a full driving license. The ideal candidates will have a basic understanding of computer network fundamentals and computer components, and a keen interest in IT. Along with good analytical and problem-solving skills. We seek a highly motivated individual with good communication and customer service skills. This post is suitable for someone looking to advance their knowledge and skill set within IT, working as part of a team to deliver a high standard of support to staff and students across the Trust.

Main purpose of the job:

  • To provide specialist technical IT support across Trust Academies including the development and maintenance of infrastructure / resources and to provide general support to staff and pupils
  • To work collaboratively with all staff and parents/carers to support student well-being and promote the values of the Trust and each school.
  • Under the direction of the Head of IT Services support the installation, maintenance, availability and security of the Trust-wide network, hardware, and software.
  • To make a key contribution to the development of and support provided by the IT Services Team across all schools through the provision and delivery of a highly effective service.
  • To have a basic understanding of IT's role in safeguarding and the measures used to support a safe working environment for staff and students.
