Aligned with our IT strategy we are pleased to have a new role for a skilled IT Systems Administrator to join our friendly team. The post holder will lead the Ashton Park site IT Team in partnership with the GGLT Head of IT, administering and developing the site's infrastructure and implementing new systems. The successful candidate will also work collaboratively with our three Primary Schools to provide like-support coordinating onsite assistance for them each week.
This is a varied and developing role and we’d love to hear from you if you share our commitment and passion for working in education. We need you to be able to work with agility and skilled initiative to solve problems and communication solutions to a wide audience of students and staff. You will ideally already have experience supporting school IT Networks (or similar) and enjoy working independently as well as cooperatively as part of a team.
You will be responsible for providing technical advice, IT support, maintenance and in-house development to support our teaching and learning. There will be exposure to System Centre Configuration Manager, the deployment and administration of Windows 10/Office 2016 and other third party applications. Experience with managing a Google environment would be beneficial as you will be required to administer G Suite, Google Docs, Sheets and Slides.
Experience of facilities management systems, BMS, Access control and CCTV, and some experience with Cisco based Switches, VLans and Sonicwall VPN is desirable, and also server virtualisation infrastructure to Mac OSX and administering OSX Server. If you don’t have this, we’ll ensure the right candidate is trained and supported to speedily develop in order to feel confident in the environments.
This is a fantastic career opportunity for someone with an experienced IT background looking to join a team where you can truly make your mark and contribute to a broad IT remit. This covers supporting users across the 4 schools, both desk side and remotely, whilst benefiting from one-on-one support and project work with the GGLT Head of IT.
