What skills and experience we're looking for
Experience
- Working within desktop and application support.
- Working within an educational setting (Desirable)
- Supporting server and network infrastructures.
- Provided basic training to users on application use, health and safety, etc. (Desirable)
- Hardware support such as printer installation and device maintenance.
- Providing excellent helpdesk support to users
Skills
- Confident user of a majority of hardware, OS and desktop applications including educational software.
- Understands the principles of structured cabling, connecting network devices and the functions of routers, switches and network file systems.
- Understands general and specific health & safety issues affecting ICT for both self and all users.
- Understands the importance of documenting system configuration information.
- Capable of identifying possible ICT requirements and providing an outline specification for a IT solution.
- Understand the principals of the Data Protection Act and GDPR and be able to put them into practice. (Desirable)
