The type of person we are looking for will be committed to outstanding levels of customer service and be enthusiastic about working with young people. S/he will demonstration a willingness to contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the Academy in what is an extremely busy and varied role.

Job description

Responsible for academy digital marking

Creating and updating academy social media

Creating and updating academy website (WordPress)

Creating marketing and promotional materials for the academy

Capture high-quality photographs within the academy using a DSLR camera

Update content on the academy’s app (My School App)

Manage information displayed on the academy’s TV screens via Yodeck software

Providing general administrative support under the direction of the Administration Manager.

Supporting reception duties in line with Admin processes for front of house.

Meet and greet visitors professionally in line with security requirements adhering to signing in/out processes using electronic and manual systems.

Prepare and send out letters/text messages/ emails as directed

Take room bookings via the online room booking system and arrange for any additional request in relation to the bookings

Monitor Academy email accounts as directed

Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and follow the guidelines set out in the Academy policies

Be aware of health and safety with the Academy and how this affects the Admin Team

Assist with fire evacuation in line with the Fire Policy

Assist with other similar tasks as may be required

Specific Skills and Abilities

Effective use of social media accounts

Willingness to learn new software

Proficiency in website content management systems (preferably Wordpress – or a willingness to learn)

Familiarity with Canva for creating engaging visual content.

Experience with social media scheduling tools (eg Buffer – or a willingness to learn)

A creative eye and experience in using DSLR cameras.

Strong copywriting skills for creating interesting and clear social media captions

Effective use of ICT packages, especially Outlook, Word and Excel – good keyboard skills

Ability to use relevant equipment and resources

Ability to multi-task and prioritise work

Professional telephone manner and effective communication skills

Team player - ability to work constructively as part of a busy and friendly team

Good organising/planning - methodical with good attention to detail.

Friendly yet professional, approach, demonstrating support and mutual respect for staff, students and parents

Takes responsibility and accountability

Being adaptable and embracing changes

Committed to the needs of the students, parents and other stakeholders and challenge barriers and blocks to providing an effective service

Qualifications and Experience

Evidence of a successful education.

Educated with formal qualifications including GCSE (or Level 2 equivalent) in Mathematics and English Language or similar qualifications gained since leaving compulsory education.

Landau Forte Academy QEMS and Tamworth Sixth Form

Landau Forte Academy QEMS joined the Landau Forte Charitable Trust in September 2011 and delivers education to 11-16 year olds. Landau Forte Academy Sixth Form is a purpose-built establishment providing Level 3 courses, both Advanced Level and Applied qualifications, for the whole of Tamworth and beyond. The academies are located on a shared campus, but both operate from their own facilities. Both QEMS and Tamworth Sixth Form are oversubscribed.
