Key Stage 2 Class Teacher job summary

We are a friendly and supportive school, looking for an innovative and enthusiastic key stage two class teacher. It is vital that the successful candidate knows how to enthuse and connect with children to ensure our pupils have the best possible chance to thrive.

We pride ourselves on being a close-knit team that feels like a family. This was recognised in our recent Ofsted inspection in October 2021 where we retained our ‘Good’ overall rating. They also recognised that pupils are motivated at Swallowfield and that they behave well.

Possibilities for career development and the opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities will be available for the right candidate, but this post would also suit a less experienced teacher as well.

We understand that as a teacher, there are various pressures that come with the extensive work that is required for all pupils to make great progress, so it is equally important to us that we support and invest in our teachers too through quality training opportunities.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.

We are an oversubscribed two-form entry school with our own pre-school on site. We are located on the borders of Central Beds and Milton Keynes in the village of Woburn Sands. We are very fortunate to have excellent facilities at school, which include our own swimming pool, library bus, running track to name but a few.
