Required from 1 September 2024
Small enough to care, big enough to make a positive impact
We are seeking an excellent Key Stage 2 practitioner to join our school. With good standards of teaching and behaviour and the provision of high quality care and support for our pupils, we believe passionately that every pupil should succeed in all aspects of school life.
The successful candidate will have QTS, will be passionate about teaching and be genuinely determined to see our students succeed with your direction. You will be ambitious and have the ability to keep students consistently engaged in your lessons. In addition it is essential that you have a key understanding of the Key Stage 2 National Curriculum as well as an understanding of effective behaviour management strategies and the ability to put these into practice.
You will be employed as an Upper Key Stage 2 teacher, teaching across a range of subjects. This post would be suitable for an ECT or someone wishing to gain further experience.
Children enter our school in Year 5, which continues through to Year 8. Pupil numbers in our school have grown significantly in recent years, with extra provision for those additional places on site. Key Stage 2 currently consists of 74 pupils in Year 5 and 75 pupils in Year 6. Year group leaders ensure that there is a co-ordinated approach across the school and take the lead in their pastoral support. However, it is the role of the child's class teacher that is crucial in ensuring that our children have the day-to-day care and support to be able to reach their potential at Whytrig.
With a strong sense of purpose and drive to improve student attainment and progress, you will join a committed team of staff and will be supported to further develop your career and professional practice.
