Key Stage 3 Leader job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, committed and resilient Key Stage 3 Leader to join our team from January 2024. The successful candidate will play a major role in school improvement, being responsible for the strategic and operational leadership and development of Years 7-9. In particular, the KS3 Leader will:

  • ensure that Bradford Girls’ Grammar School provides an optimal learning environment for all students, maximising the personal, social and academic progress of every individual and to establish and maintain systems to nurture and drive high achievement in all its forms.
  • ensure student progress, achievement and wellbeing are monitored carefully so that appropriate support, guidance and challenge is provided throughout, including transition into and out of Key Stage 3.
  • have a significant input into the design of the KS3 curriculum, ensuring it is appropriate, contextualized and in line with best practice.
  • provide professional leadership to a group of Year Managers, Form Tutors and other colleagues as appropriate, to set the tone for the Key Stage and model the BGGS Way and ethos.

Our school motto is Aspire, Succeed, Lead. We are a hugely successful school, with a strong set of GCSE results. But our mission is to achieve much more than that, so that our students leave as future leaders – equipped to perform on national and international platforms in whatever career they choose in the future.

The school’s culture is firmly rooted in values, and these shape the way that we do things on a day-to-day basis, following the BGGS Way. We recognise our accountability to our children and the impact we make on their futures; we are selfconfident in what we do; and we are prepared to persevere in our determination to succeed. We are an organisation that truly cares about what we do and how we do it, and our actions are very much based on integrity, mutual respect, and empathy.

The ability to teach one of the following subjects is essential: Maths, Science, English, PE, PSHE, Citizenship, Geography, History.

If you are interested in joining our team and being part of our exciting future, we look forward to hearing from you.
