What skills and experience we're looking for
Key Stage 3 (Nurture) Teacher required for our expanding school
Secondary experience or a primary practitioner willing and adaptable to work within the secondary phase.
If you are skilled and committed to adapting your teaching to meet the individual needs of students, come and join our team. The role will include being a form tutor and planning and delivering learning of our bespoke social communication curriculum and life skills supporting our young people for transition into their adult life.

Further details about the role
The Fusion Academy, a school for children and young people aged 7-19 with communication and interaction needs and/or autism, is in its third year of being open and is due to complete the final stages of growth to 80 pupils in August 2023. We are located in a new purpose built school in Barwell. The Fusion Academy is part of a Multi Academy Trust called Open Thinking Partnership.
A flexible solution focussed approach to teaching young people of mainstream academic ability while addressing their communication and interaction barriers to learning is crucial.

Salary - MPS/UPS (depending on qualifications and experience) and SEN allowance .

The Fusion Academy is for young people with autism and/ or communication and interaction needs who do not have a learning disability. To come to The Fusion Academy, students must have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) that states communication and interaction and/ or autism as their primary area of need. The Fusion Academy is not set up for young people with cognition and learning needs. It is designed for young people who, despite their difficulties around communication and interaction, have the potential to learn at an age appropriate level and will be looking to access qualifications and potential employment in the future.
