What skills and experience we're looking for
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, energetic and innovative individual to take on a leadership role in our Maths department. If you have a passion for demonstrating the wonders of Maths to young people, and a commitment to work with all ages and abilities, we would like to hear from you. You will be an outstanding practitioner with a past record of high performance linked to students’ learning, standards and progress. You must also have a belief in the ability of all students within the school to achieve their full potential. Moreover, you will need to demonstrate that you can inspire both staff and students.
This is a strategic post that offers opportunities to work with the Progress Leader to develop Maths provision at Hilbre, including shaping the Key Stage 3, curriculum so that students are motivated to fulfil and exceed their potential. Previous leadership experience is not essential, but you will be passionate about Maths, improving outcomes for students and be ready to take that next step in your career. Our Key Stage 3 and 4 classes are taught using the White Rose scheme, in order to develop a deep and broad Mathematical understanding in preparation for GCSE. Our curriculum is underpinned by research on task design, variation theory, concept development and raising achievement.
All details are available to download from our website www.hilbre.wirral.sch.uk. An application form and letter of application must be completed for eligibility to the post and should be returned to the Headteacher, Mr Mark Bellamy, either by post or by email to schooloffice@hilbre.wirral.sch.uk. All electronic applications will be acknowledged (no agencies please).
