Key Stage 5 Leader & Teacher of Science job summary
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding leader of Science, who has the vision and determination to raise student outcomes across the faculty. The science faculty is an extremely strong faculty and has strong leaders in all areas. The current Head of Faculty and the current Key Stage 4 leader were previous incumbents of this position and the Head of Sixth Form is a teacher and leader within the faculty. We would expect the successful candidate to have ambition to move to a curriculum leader in the future.
The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching science across all key stages and will have the oversight of all science courses within Key Stage 5. These include A level Biology, Chemistry and Physics, alongside the BTEC Level 3 Applied Science programme.
You will be joining a hugely successful and forward-thinking team of staff that are committed to continuous improvement. The projections for outcomes look extremely strong and pre-pandemic, our Science faculty have delivered some outstanding outcomes, with 2018 Science outcomes sitting in the top 20% nationally.
