Kitchen Assistant
Salary: Rutland National Joint Council 2.2 (£14,878)
Hours: 26.25 hours per week
Working Hours: 9.15am - 3.00pm (with 30 minute, unpaid break)
Working weeks: 39 weeks per year (term-time, plus 1 week)
Contract type: Permanent
As Kitchen Assistant you would be working as part of the kitchen team to ensure crockery and cookware is clean and assist with other kitchen tasks in as required.
Skills & Attributes:
Team work: Ability to work well with cooks, catering staff, and Catering Manager in a busy kitchen environment, especially during busy break and lunch times.
Time Management: Being punctual and able to work efficiently to help prepare, serve, and clean up meals within tight school schedules.
Reliability & Responsibility: Showing consistency, trustworthiness, and a good work ethic—important when working around children and food services.
Food Hygiene & Safety Awareness - Desirable, however training will be given.
Understanding basic food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.
