Kitchen Manager job summary
Sheringham High School is a popular 11-18 school situated on the beautiful North Norfolk Coast. We have a strong sense of community and take pride in our surroundings.
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Kitchen Manager to oversee the smooth operation and management of the school's catering services. The Kitchen Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring that high-quality, nutritious meals are provided for students and staff while maintaining excellent standards of hygiene, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen. This role includes supervising kitchen staff, planning menus, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Previous experience of working in the catering industry or similar field is essential.
We will need you to have excellent communication skills and to be able to demonstrate the ability to lead and manage a team.
Your role will involve:
- Prepare and cook meals including any special dietary requirements
- Cleaning duties within the kitchen/dining area
- Stocktaking/ordering
- Maintaining all budgets
- Manage the Food Safety Management System
- Health & Safety compliance and food hygiene standards
- Food service to students & staff
- IT literate
- Maintain and promote relationships within the school
- Motivate and develop staff to their full potential
- A uniform will be provided

Sheringham High School became an Academy in 2011 and is situated on the North Norfolk coast, forty or so minutes from Norwich. Until September 2021, Sheringham High was the central high school in the North Norfolk Academy Trust which has now merged with Synergy MAT.
We are a popular School that caters for over 700 students aged from 11 to 18 who live in Sheringham, Holt and the many surrounding villages. The School occupies a wonderful campus set in its own spacious playing fields with views of the sea.
