Do you want to work in a nurturing school with an ambitious curriculum (SIAMS 2021)?
Do you have a passion for helping children be the best that they can be?
Do you want to work as part of a successful Federation team?
Then read on…

Due to relocation of the current teacher, from September 2022, we have a vacancy for a KS2 class teacher. The successful candidate will join our happy and hardworking team in our school and across our federation. The appointment is for a class teacher based at St Cuthbert’s CE Primary School which is part of the wider Upper Nidderdale Primary Federation with Fountains Earth CE Primary and Glasshouses Community Primary Schools.
We believe that a good teacher can help develop the learning characteristics for a child’s whole academic career. We are looking to appoint an inspirational Teacher, dedicated to embedding curriculum knowledge in practical and exciting ways that challenge and engage all learners in a KS2 environment. In a small school, all staff members play a vital role in the development of our children. We are looking to appoint someone who will fit into the team and become a member of our school family.

In our profession we are lucky enough to have teachers who are gifted; who just know how to inspire children; who have that special something that is hard to put into words; whose classroom that the children never want to leave. If you are that gifted teacher, we would like to hear from you!
This post would not suit an NQT.
There will be a comprehensive package of support and development in place through in-house training, NYCC and the HART teaching school alliance.
Our children would like their teacher to be:
‘Kind’, ‘Fair’, ‘Exciting’, ‘Clever’
We are looking for:
• A person who can build trust with pupils and develop their independence, resilience and self-belief.
• A professional who is able to manage their time effectively to meet the complex needs of any cohort to ensure that interventions and Teacher Standards are fulfilled to a high standard.
• Someone who has the drive and ambition to make sure our children achieve their very best, promoting excellence within the class and Key Stage and sharing expertise across the federation.
• A character who has the drive to lead change with a relentless attitude to ensure that all children succeed.
• A Teacher with a sense of humour and flair for primary education who will embrace the challenges of supporting children in a mixed age class.
• A positive character who has initiative and is self-motivated, willing to embrace change.
• A Teacher who cares.
• A character who demonstrates flexibility to meet the needs of the federation.
• A Teacher with an understanding of the KS 2 curriculum.
• A professional who has experience of multi-tasking to combine all areas of the curriculum.

We can offer you:
• A warm, happy school where we value each individual child and the community in which it stands.
• Happy, enthusiastic and well-behaved children, eager to learn.
• A school within a federation offering the opportunity to work with like-minded colleagues and share good practice.
• An opportunity for you to thrive as you continue your journey as a professional, accessing high quality support, training and resources our school leaders have to offer.

To discuss the role, please contact Angela Lumley, on 01423 711407 or admin@st-cuthberts.n-yorks.sch.uk.

We are committed to the safety and welfare of our children and the appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS, proof of qualifications and two references that will be taken up before the interview.

Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.

NYCC are committed to directly recruiting staff and will not accept applications nor services from agency suppliers in respect of our vacancies.

We are committed to meeting the needs of our diverse community and aim to have a workforce reflecting this diversity. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our vision of 'Learning and Growing Together' provides the framework for education in our federation. Our vision is underpinned by the Christian narrative ‘As one body has many parts, we all belong and have a part to play’ 1 Corinthians chapter 12:27.

This verse reminds us of our role in Christian community, and also gives a vision for our school community, with each person being a unique but important and valued part of our school body.

Our different talents and gifts work together to enrich the learning environment as we learn from each other and grow together in community.
