We have a vacancy for a KS1 class teacher. The successful candidate will join our happy and hardworking team in our school and across our federation. The appointment is for a class teacher based at St Cuthbert’s CE Primary School which is part of the wider Upper Nidderdale Primary Federation with Fountains Earth CE Primary and Glasshouses Community Primary Schools.

We believe that a good practitioner can help develop the learning characteristics for a child’s whole academic career. We are looking to appoint an inspirational Teacher, dedicated to embedding curriculum knowledge in practical and exciting ways that challenge and engage all learners in a KS1 environment. We are seeking a professional who has the self-motivation and organisation to become the best that they can be. In a small school, all staff members play a vital role in the development of our children. We are looking to appoint someone who will fit into the team and become a member of our school family.

In our profession we are lucky enough to have teachers who are gifted; who just know how to inspire children; who have that special something that is hard to put into words; whose classroom is a play filled wonderland that the children never want to leave. If you are that gifted teacher, we would like to hear from you!

This post would suit both NQT’s and teachers looking to broaden their MPS experience in another school. There will be a comprehensive package of support and development in place through the HART teaching school alliance.

We are looking for:

A person who can build trust with pupils and develop their independence, resilience and self-belief.
A professional who is able to manage their time effectively to meet the complex needs of any cohort to ensure that interventions and Teacher Standards are fulfilled to a high standard.
Someone who has the drive and ambition to make sure our children achieve their very best, promoting excellence within the class and Key Stage and sharing expertise across the federation.
A character who has the drive to lead change with a relentless attitude to ensure that all children succeed.
A Teacher with a sense of humour and flair for primary education who will embrace the challenges of supporting children in a mixed age class.
A positive character who has initiative and is self-motivated, willing to embrace change.
A Teacher who cares.
A character who demonstrates flexibility to meet the needs of the federation.
A Teacher with an understanding of the KS 1 curriculum.
A professional who has experience of multi-tasking to combine all areas of the curriculum.
A Teacher who has experience of planning and resourcing Continuous Provision activities linked to the curriculum.

We can offer you:

A warm, happy school where we value each individual child and the community in which it stands.
Happy, enthusiastic and well-behaved children, eager to learn.
A school within a federation offering the opportunity to work with like-minded colleagues and share good practice.
An opportunity for you to thrive as you continue your journey as a professional, accessing high quality support, training and resources our school leaders have to offer.

We are committed to the safety and welfare of our children and the appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS, proof of qualifications and two references that will be taken up before the interview.

Enhanced Level DBS Disclosure is required for appointment to this post.

NYCC are committed to directly recruiting staff and will not accept applications nor services from agency suppliers in respect of our vacancies.

We are committed to meeting the needs of our diverse community and aim to have a workforce reflecting this diversity. We are also committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults. We expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

On behalf of the staff, pupils and governors I would like to wish you a warm welcome to our federation.

Fountains Earth C of E Primary, St Cuthbert's C of E Primary and our Federation Nursery provide the highest quality education for children aged 3 to 11.

We are very proud of our schools and the rich and varied curriculum they offer. Both schools are very special places with a true family feel due to the small numbers on roll and a staff team that care deeply about the communities they serve. We have a strong Christian Ethos and high aspirations for all.

Our vision of 'Learning and Growing Together' provides the framework for education in our federation. Our vision is underpinned by the Christian narrative ‘As one body has many parts, we all belong and have a part to play’ 1 Corinthians chapter 12:27.

This verse reminds us of our role in Christian community, and also gives a vision for our school community, with each person being a unique but important and valued part of our school body.

Our different talents and gifts work together to enrich the learning environment as we learn from each other and grow together in community.

Both schools were inspected by Ofsted in 2017 and were judged as good with many key strengths including outstanding behaviour, personal development and welfare. The perfect environment in which to begin a child's learning journey. Our schools are expecting a SIAMS inspection once lockdown is eased when we can celebrate all that our Federation has to offer.

It is in the first years at school that a sense of fun and enjoyment shapes attitudes to learning for life. We are fortunate to have a federation Nursery where children can learn though play, both indoors and out, with an Early Years specialist qualified teacher and practitioner. Children can start in our nursery from the age of three.

Nidderdale is a beautiful place to learn, we are surrounded by an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and we capitalise on all that our natural surroundings have to offer.

A visit to our schools is the ideal way to discover this for yourself. You would be most welcome! Please contact the school office.
