What skills and experience we're looking for

St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School is looking for an aspirational and committed teacher to join our dynamic staff team in January 2025. The successful candidate’s most important attribute is the passion to enable every child to achieve their best, personally and academically.

We are in the fortunate position to be able to fit this role to the expertise and experience of the right candidate. Options include full time or part time hours, based either in class or in a cover role. There is also the opportunity to lead a core subject so this role could be ideally suited to someone looking to move into school leadership, although this is not essential.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Aligns with positive and nurturing approach which gives the school its family feel
  • Can motivate all children so that they achieve and make excellent progress
  • Is hard working, contributes fully and collaborates successfully as part of a team
  • Is keen to support the Catholic ethos of the school and willing to take an active part in the wider life of the school (you do not need to be a Catholic or of faith to work at St Patrick’s)
  • Is a reflective practitioner who seeks to improve pupils’ experiences and outcomes

What the school offers its staff

We can offer you:

  • A teaching role matched to your strengths and expertise
  • The opportunity to work at a school with an embedded Christian ethos that prides itself on being inclusive
  • Happy, well behaved children who are very keen to learn
  • A friendly team of dedicated and hardworking colleagues and governors

Further details about the role

Visits to the school are warmly welcomed and encouraged along with an opportunity to discuss the role with the Headteacher, either in person or via a phone call, prior to submitting your application.

This role will commence on the 1st of January 2025 but an earlier start can be arranged for exceptional candidates.

Application procedure

For an information pack and to arrange a visit to the school please contact our School Business Manager on 01252 542511 or e-mail v.ryan@st-patricks.hants.sch.uk.

Please note that we do not accept applications on Hampshire County Council forms as we are a Catholic school. All applications must be submitted using the CES application form, which is almost identical, available from https://www.st-patricks.hants.sch.uk/staff/

Applications will be reviewed as they are received and interviewed if suitable. We reserve the right to close the vacancy at any time.

Commitment to safeguarding

At St. Patrick's we are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.
