What skills and experience we're looking for

Do you want to work in a great school that is going places? We are looking for a KS1 or KS2 teacher to work alongside our team.

You will have to work hard here, but only on the things that make a difference to children’s lives: we don’t do meaningless paperwork or data entry; we don’t grade lessons or monitor your planning; we don’t ask you to do pointless marking, but rather give you time to have meaningful feedback conversations with the children. We are always trying to find smarter ways of working so that you can have a real work-life balance. We are looking for people who are passionate about learning and improving their own practice and we will give you every opportunity and support to do this.

What the school offers its staff

You will be joining a 2-form entry school that serves the diverse and vibrant community of Woolston in Southampton (Ofsted Good June 2019). Our community includes children and staff from a range of different faiths as well as no faith and we all work together to improve using our school values of Perseverance, Aspiration, Teamwork, Respect, Independence, Creativity and Kindness – our PATRICKs. Our curriculum is not just about English and maths, but provides children with wonderful opportunities in music, drama, the arts and sport and our adults have similar interests beyond the curriculum.

If you are an inspiring, reflective and passionate teacher, then we want you! Applications are welcomed from both ECTs and more experienced teachers.

Commitment to safeguarding

Our organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. We expect all staff, volunteers and trustees to share this commitment.

Our recruitment process follows the keeping children safe in education guidance.

Offers of employment may be subject to the following checks (where relevant):
childcare disqualification
Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
medical
online and social media
prohibition from teaching
right to work
satisfactory references
suitability to work with children

You must tell us about any unspent conviction, cautions, reprimands or warnings under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975.

Applying for the job

If you're interested in teaching or training to teach in England as an international citizen, we can help you understand your next steps.
