KS1 Phase Leader job summary

The Governors at Abbey Lane are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational Key Stage 1 Phase Leader to join our strong and supportive team. The successful candidate will:

Be a member of the School Leadership Team.
Be an excellent practitioner with the ability to promote the highest standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
Actively promote the ethos of the school and support and promote whole school development.
Motivate, inspire and support all staff, governors, pupils and parents.
Be responsible for securing the highest possible standards of pupil achievement and progress across the phase through monitoring, evaluating and setting targets for improvement.
Lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice of others across the school by evaluating, supporting and guiding.
Be accountable for the leadership and management of the relevant phase, developing and implementing plans, policies, targets and practices within the context of the school’s aims and policies.
Be a line of communication between the phase staff and the Leadership Team and to liaise regularly with the SLT to monitor pupil progress.
Lead regular team meetings/discussions/planning meetings.
Support and secure the commitment of others to the vision, ethos and policies of the school.
Ensure that parents are well informed about the curriculum, targets, pupil’s progress and attainment in the phase.
Work collaboratively with other phase leaders to ensure the continuing success of the school.
Display exemplary classroom practice which meets the needs of all groups of children.
