KS1 Phase Leader job summary
The Governors at Abbey Lane are seeking to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and inspirational Key Stage 1 Phase Leader to join our strong and supportive team. The successful candidate will:
- Be a member of the School Leadership Team.
- Be an excellent practitioner with the ability to promote the highest standards of teaching, learning and behaviour.
- Actively promote the ethos of the school and support and promote whole school development.
- Motivate, inspire and support all staff, governors, pupils and parents.
- Be responsible for securing the highest possible standards of pupil achievement and progress across the phase through monitoring, evaluating and setting targets for improvement.
- Lead, develop and enhance the teaching practice of others across the school by evaluating, supporting and guiding.
- Be accountable for the leadership and management of the relevant phase, developing and implementing plans, policies, targets and practices within the context of the school’s aims and policies.
- Be a line of communication between the phase staff and the Leadership Team and to liaise regularly with the SLT to monitor pupil progress.
- Lead regular team meetings/discussions/planning meetings.
- Support and secure the commitment of others to the vision, ethos and policies of the school.
- Ensure that parents are well informed about the curriculum, targets, pupil’s progress and attainment in the phase.
- Work collaboratively with other phase leaders to ensure the continuing success of the school.
- Display exemplary classroom practice which meets the needs of all groups of children.
