We are looking for a passionate and inspiring qualified class teacher (KS1) to join our supportive and talented team at Evergreen Primary Academy. This position is a Fixed Term Contract until 04 January 2021 to cover Maternity Leave .

Duties and Responsibilities:
•Plan, monitor and evaluate effective and differentiated curriculum opportunities, including home learning.
•Use a variety of delivery methods, which will stimulate learning that is appropriate to student needs and demands.
•Work effectively with other departmental teachers.
•Develop students’ study skills and enthusiasm and helping them to exceed expectations and targets.
•Report on students’ progress to parents and other appropriate parties in line with Academy guidelines.
•Set and reinforce high expectations for students’ achievement, behaviour and attitude and promoting high aspirations, self-control and independence.
•Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other adults to enhance students’ learning.
•Work with colleagues to develop links with other Academies, educational establishments and the wider community including business and industry, in order to enhance teaching and learning and students’ personal development.

Essential educational requirements

•Good literacy and numeracy competency with a minimum of 5 GCSE (including Maths and English at grade C or above), or other equivalent qualifications.
•NVQ for Teaching Assistants level 2 or above, working towards or commitment to undertake the qualification.
•Appropriate first aid qualification or willingness to undertake training (where relevant).

Essential qualifications

•Good literacy and numeracy competency with a minimum of 5 GCSE (including Maths and English at grade C or above), or other equivalent qualifications.
•NVQ for Teaching Assistants level 2 or above, working towards or commitment to undertake the qualification.

Essential skills and experience

Skills:
•Excellent standard of oral and written communication skills and ability to understand and convey complex needs and information.
•Good organisational skills.
•Excellent interpersonal skills.
•Have empathy and excellent listening skills.
•Good working knowledge of IT for own planning and to support students.

Experience:
•Proven experience of working effectively with SEND students, students with additional needs and/or disabilities on an individual basis or in groups.
•Experience of planning and evaluating learning activities.
•Demonstrable experience of working effectively with parents/carers of young people and external agencies.
