Maternity cover: 19th April 2021 onwards.
Resilient, resourceful, caring, flexible teachers are invited to apply for the post of class teacher in our friendly school. Our children are kind, happy learners and the staff and governors are experienced and supportive. Teaching is hard work! We are looking for a strong, capable candidate who is able to meet the everyday challenges of teaching and who will strive for the best education for each child.
You will be responsible for the teaching and learning of a mixed class of 30 year 1/year 2 children. For continuity of education the 15 Year 1 children will remain in your class in September 2021 as Year 2. You will be part of the key stage 1 team, where there are 2 other mixed classes, taught by experienced and supportive teachers.
The successful candidate will:
• be prepared to meet the needs of all learners in a mixed age class who have had a disrupted education over the past 12 months

School information:
We are a small friendly local authority infant school of 135 pupils. We have a PAN of 45 per year group and 5 classrooms and therefore always have mixed classes. There are 2 x Foundation 2 classes and 3 year 1/year 2 mixed classes. We have extensive outdoor facilities which all teachers use as part of their daily provision.
The staffing complement consists of the Headteacher, 1 DHT/EYFS lead, 1 TLR (SENCO/KS 1 lead), 3 class teachers (including 1 pair of job share), 1 .2 PE teacher, 6 part time Teaching Assistants, a Site Manager and 6 MDSAs.
Children develop their learning powers of resilience, reciprocity, resourcefulness and reflectiveness throughout their time with us and our core values of being kind, showing respect, being honest and working hard are embedded throughout their day to day school life.
Children who join our Foundation Stage Two classes are invited to attend a ‘Ready for School’ session each week in the second half of the summer term. We have close links with Porchester Junior School where the majority of our child transfer to at the end of year 2.
There is a collaborative approach to planning and the staff have PPA together. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a hard working team.
