About the role
‘Together we share and develop excellence through effort, aspiration and high expectations’

Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy is a two form entry primary with big ambitions as we continue to share and develop excellence for our children and our staff team.
We welcomed our experienced Headteacher in summer 2019 and over the last 2 years we have overhauled our curriculum, leadership structure, provision, and learning environments.

We are part of the Ebor Academy Trust which is a family of 24 primary and secondary schools. As a staff colleague you will access CPD available locally as well as accessing leading teaching and leadership programmes through our Trust networks.
Our ongoing development in terms of educational achievement and commitment to raising standards on the coast is at the forefront of our thinking – we have a great induction and staff wellbeing programme supported by our own training provision through Ebor Hope Teaching Alliance.

Our opportunity

We now have an exciting opportunity in KS1 to join our dedicated Y2 team as a Class Teacher . You will either be an ECT (NQT), or already on your way to being an excellent classroom practitioner within KS1 and will want to thrive and to develop your career within the classroom.
This is a fixed term position starting after October half term.

With tailored support from our Headteacher, Head of School, Assistant Heads, Phase Leaders and other skilled colleagues, we will further develop you and give you the skills, encouragement and experience within the profession you are looking for.

We are looking for:

● A track record of raising both pupil attainment and standards of teaching and learning in KS1.
● A strong vision and ethos that supports our values and culture.
● A colleague who sees themselves as a teaching professional with middle and future leader aspirations.
● A practitioner with a developing or established interest in Oracy as a tool to facilitate great learning.
We can offer you:
● A school with a renewed focus who puts pastoral and nurture provision at its heart and an aspirational outlook for our children
● An opportunity to be in a school that is rapidly improving
● Happy, enthusiastic children who are thriving and have a thirst for learning
● An opportunity to work with an experienced and committed team and be part of a Trust which is diverse and puts the community at the heart of its agenda.

Join us and build a wonderful career in a school you are passionate about. Please contact James on the details below.
We are proud to work alongside our fellow primary and secondary schools and we believe we have a unique opportunity for colleagues to grow, develop and thrive in their career as part of our coastal community. Dear applicant,

Welcome to Braeburn Primary and Nursery Academy and I am delighted that you are considering joining us as a staff member as we broaden our horizons together.

It is fair to say that since October 2018 we have seen a lot of change at Braeburn and we have renewed energy, commitment and a clear focus towards moving our school forward.

Since we joined the Ebor Academy Trust (in October 2018) we have seen rapid improvement in almost all areas of our work – and our community now comment on our improved well-being provision, our redesigned curriculum and our wider opportunities enrichment programme.

Our very creative staff have a real love of teaching and we are looking for a future member of our team who can develop that sense of awe and wonder in children. The children at Braeburn are delightful, happy, confident and energetic. They are passionate about their learning, be it in the traditional classroom or through drama, music, dance and sports. We are looking for someone who can embrace these aspects of the curriculum as well as English and Maths.

We have embedded new strategies which are underpinned by a Restorative approach to behaviour management. Many of our staff are now involved in the CPD programmes offered through the Opportunity Area and through our Trust.

The Ebor Academy Trust - a family of over 20 primary schools - offer wide ranging opportunities for our staff to access CPD and professional qualifications and draw upon specialists that will nurture, challenge and support you.

There are no limits to what our children can achieve if every single member of our community takes ownership of this, works hard and aspires for excellence. Our school motto encompasses our vision and aims for every member of our community:

Excellence through effort, aspiration and high expectations. We can because we believe we can.

We welcome visitors and hope that you will come and see for yourself what a happy place our school is and the journey we are on.

Tim Jolly (Headteacher)
