We are one of the highest attaining Primary Schools in the North West with a track record over a long period of time for academic excellence. However, as important as academic standards undoubtedly are, our school is about so much more than that.
Our focus is on developing and nurturing all pupils to not only achieve their full potential academically but also to develop them socially, emotionally and spiritually- to develop and nurture the whole child in effect. We have seven key qualities (we call them Golden Threads) that run right through all aspects of what we do at our school. These qualities are:
- Self-Reflection
- Decision Making
- Resilience
- Communication
- Curiosity
- Organisation
- Independence
Through a vibrant, broad and balanced curriculum supported by a wide ranging extra-curricular and enrichment offer, as well as highly effective pastoral support, St. James’ pupils are happy, confident, articulate young citizens prepared for the next stage of their education and life beyond that.
Pivotal to our success is the highly effective home-school partnership- we work closely with our parents in their continued role as first educators of their child. Communication between home and school is very clear and there are a shared set of values and high expectations for our amazing pupils. Through this, we not only develop academically able pupils but good people also.
