KS2 Class Teacher job summary
A great opportunity to join a supportive team working with enthusiastic pupils at our school situated in the thriving market town of Sudbury. We are proud of our curious children who work hard to be successful supported by their parents. We are looking for a teacher who enjoys learning and can inspire our year 5 children to be ambitious. We would welcome applications from newly qualified teachers as well as experienced teachers. Our Staff are able to participate in significant professional development opportunities from induction of Early Career Teachers to NPQML, NPQSL, NPQH and Master’s degree. You will be joining an established federation of two primary schools where shared planning and assessment are designed to support staff well-being. We welcome staff who share and support the Catholic ethos of our school.
The Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and requires all staff and volunteers to demonstrate this commitment in every aspect of their work. The successful candidate will need to undertake a DBS check.

St Joseph's RC Primary school has approximately 160 pupils age 4 to 11 years arranged in seven classes. St Joseph’s is part of the West Suffolk Catholic Pyramid of schools with the high school, St Benedict’s in Bury St Edmunds. The school originally opened in 1909 and over the years has been refurbished, most recently when the hall was built in 2012. St Joseph’s is Federated with St Edmund’s Catholic Primary school in Bury St Edmund's and shares staff and resources. The children also participate in joint activities including a residential to Horstead in Norfolk and curriculum events.
