Newquay Junior Academy is recognised as being a good school with a caring family ethos. Our staff set high standards and we aim to ensure that all our children achieve their best, realise their full potential and participate fully in the life of their school.

We are the largest junior school in Cornwall with 18 classes of children, from Year 3 through to Year 6. There are approximately 65 trained staff members, who deliver exciting learning opportunities for children in all phases. We are proud of our thematic curriculum and our staff work very hard to give the children here the best education we can. Our historic school moto echoes our belief that by working hard together we can reach our true potential. ‘Each for the good of the greater number.’ The virtue of having a large staff is that we can draw on a wide pool of expertise and knowledge to deliver the very best learning environments for pupils. We do our very best to deliver a high quality, interesting and challenging curriculum to enable our pupils to make the progress they are capable of. Importantly, our children enjoy their time here. When the time comes for them to leave for secondary school, we want pupils to have a wealth of knowledge, skills and understanding to lead happy and purposeful lives. Our pupils are at the heart of everything we strive to achieve and we believe that our success is due to the quality and dedication of our staff and the close co-operation and partnership that exists with our parents and partner schools.
