What skills and experience we're looking for

The Bridge School, Sedgemoor are looking for a creative and passionate KS2/KS3 teacher who can deliver a differentiated and tailored curriculum to children at our school. The successful candidate will work to deliver a broad and balanced curriculum to the children in school but also will be a part of the outreach team to offer support, advice and guidance to our local mainstream school community. We would welcome applicants from both primary and secondary teachers.

The Bridge School, Sedgemoor is the Pupil Referral Unit for mainstream schools in Sedgemoor. We are looking for dynamic, positive, creative and resilient practitioners who can support children and young people across the school.

Teachers will be expected to support HLTAs in delivery and planning of lessons. In addition, teachers will be key teachers / tutors for small groups of learners.

There is a need to be flexible in your approach, be sympathetic to the individual needs of students and be able to differentiate to a high levelin order to work within our multi-site school in the Bridgwater area. Ideally you should have experience working with young people who may have significant gaps in their education to help them re-engage in their learning.

We have some complex, high needs KS3 children on our primary site, as well as a remit to deliver in-reach partnership programs to KS2 and KS3 children who are at risk of exclusion from their mainstream schools. The post-holder will need to be able to deliver a full Maths and English curriculum, as well as literacy and numeracy interventions. This will be alongside social programs to support young people to be successful in mainstream school.

What the school offers its staff

We can offer a range of CPD opportunities and the opportunity to work as part of a very skilled, supportive and experienced team. There will be opportunities for career progression as part of the wider partnership of schools, as The Bridge works within a formal partnership with both Polden Bower and Avalon Schools.
