KS2 Learning Support Assistant job summary

Contract: Open-ended contract, Term-time only

Monday to Friday mornings 9am – 12pm

Start date: 5th September 2022 (1st September 2022 Safeguarding training)

Salary: Grade 14, Pt 4-6 £9.98 - £10.38, dependent on experience (pro-rata)

The Governing Body are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, creative and caring LSA to support our village school community.  You would make a difference to children within our school; supporting and enabling positive learning experiences. The role will involve individual support for two children with High Needs Funding in KS2. The children have Education and Health Care Plans to be able to access the curriculum and all areas of school life. This role is to provide support to specific children which will continue as long as the children remain at our school. Therefore, it is not possible to state an end date.

We are looking for someone who:

has a can-do attitude and enjoys the variety of experiences that working in a primary school offers
has experience of working with children, preferably those with additional needs, including Autism
can work closely within a team of professionals, maintaining high levels of confidentiality
has a calm, patient, but firm manner with children and is consistent with behaviour management
can follow agreed protocols but also take the initiative
can adapt the curriculum to fit the needs of child they will work with
