Knowledge, understanding and skills
The post holder will have the ability to:
- Knowledge and experience of the primary curriculum
- Support the aims and mission statement of this Church School
- Teach a wide range of subjects across the primary age range.
- Use, effectively, a variety of teaching and organisational styles and resources including ICT.
- A willingness to work throughout the Primary School.
- Monitor, assess, record and report of pupils’ progress
- Safeguard and promote the safety of children
- Develop positive relationships with all our children
- Manage behaviour consistently, positively and successfully
- the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety, SEN and Child Protection
- Ability to set high standards and provide a role model for staff and pupils.
- To be committed to raising the levels of achievement of children of all abilities
- Direct support staff effectively
- Implement whole school policies and procedures

What the school offers its staff
St John’s is a

school is a large primary school set in a green belt area on the edge of
Caterham. Formerly two separate schools, the site is extensive and offers a
fantastic learning environment. We have brilliant pupils that dedicate
themselves to learn and work hard and our staff are extremely committed and
talented.

St John’s Church of England Primary School is seeking to appoint a dynamic and innovative Deputy Head Teacher. This is a great opportunity to join an ambitious, committed and vibrant leadership team.
The ideal candidate will be someone currently in the deputy role looking for new challenge, or a highly skilled, exemplary teacher with experience at senior management level.
As a key member of our Leadership team you would be involved in managing the school on a day to day basis and be expected to take the lead in key aspects of strategic school development and the raising of standards. The successful candidate should be prepared to lead on such areas as curriculum development, monitoring of standards and teacher effectiveness, tracking and analysis of results/data, behaviour management, external relations and community links, staff development, training and induction.
