KS2 teacher + TLR
This is a middle leadership post within the school’s staffing structure, which carries with it responsibility for a phase and a core subject , working to support the headteacher, governors and staff to ensure the continuous improvement of the school. This post holder is accountable to the Headteacher. This post holder is to assist in the day-to-day running of the school and deputise for the headteacher in their absence.
As Phase Leader, the post holder will be required to meet the general requirements of this post as specified in this job description and their statement of terms and conditions. In addition, they will be required to fulfil any reasonable expectations from the headteacher and the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust.
This post will provide: leadership, development and management of teaching, to have responsibility for an assigned class as well as being a leading professional, actively ensuring the phase provides the support our vulnerable and disadvantage children require to meet their needs.
The responsibilities of the post are to be performed in accordance with the provisions of the most up to date edition of the School Teachers’ Pay and Conditions document and within the range of Teachers’ Standards set out in that document.

A thorough up to date knowledge of a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies and how to implement them effectively.
A thorough understanding of the national curriculum, and how this supports progression in learning in English and Mathematics, as well as a broad and balanced curriculum.
Secure knowledgeand understanding of:
assessment strategies and procedures, with evidence of having achieved successful pupil progress and attainment.
the potential of computer technology to enhance the curriculum and to inspire pupils.
the statutory requirements of legislation concerning Equal Opportunities, Health and Safety and SEN.
TLR payment for this role of £2,721

An annual staff survey takes place in order to obtain staff views on a variety topic’s. Staffs’ views are considered, and actions are put in place to make identified improvements. A yearly communication is sent to staff sharing results and action plans, and a further communication is sent sharing progress for the year.
