KS2 Teaching Assistant job summary
Tarporley Church of England Primary School is a happy, caring community where we strive to ensure every individual child is able to reach their full potential. The Governors and Headteacher are seeking to appoint a fun, experienced, highly committed and enthusiastic teaching assistant to work in our LKS2 team and a kind, caring, skilled 1:1 teaching assistant to join our UKS2 team.
These posts have arisen due to a staff taking a leave of absence and a member of staff leaving us to take on another role away from education and would be temporary for 1 year.
The post would be ideal for a candidate with Level 3 Early Years qualification or above, with English and Maths GCSE grade C or equivalent. They should have thorough knowledge of all aspects of the LKS2 / UKS2 primary curriculum.
We offer a dedicated and enthusiastic team of staff and Governors and supportive parents in a caring and happy environment where all are valued and achievement is celebrated. The children are delightful and want practitioners who are fun and energetic. We have strong links with St Helen’s Church, the local community and a commitment to professional development.
The successful candidate will join a team of friendly, hardworking and conscientious and supportive colleagues who work collaboratively with one another with the best interests of the children always at heart. We care not only for the children but also for our whole staff team.
The post is subject to robust Safeguarding procedures, including an Enhanced CRB check and references.
Please contact the school on 01829708188 head@tarporleyce.cheshire.sch.uk or admin@tarporleyce.cheshire.sch.uk if you have any questions about the role or would like any additional information.

Tarporley CE Primary School is an Ofsted rated 'Good' school which provides an education for currently around 275 children aged from 4 to 11 years, with the capacity to educate 315 children across 11 classes.
Our School has provided education for the children of Tarporley and surrounding areas since 1849 when the original school opened in the ‘Sandstone Building’. During the subsequent years the school has witnessed many changes reflecting the education of the times and we have a school that successfully meets the challenges of the current educational climate, providing a quality education for all our children.
The school is situated on Park Road close to the centre of the village of Tarporley with views across to Beeston Castle and the Welsh hills beyond. Within two hundred metres of the school is a health centre and small hospital. Many people move to Tarporley because it has easy access to the national motorway network, Crewe station and the airports of Manchester and Liverpool, with the surrounding towns of Nantwich, Northwich, Crewe and Winsford all within half an hours drive as is the city of Chester.
The original school opened in 1849 in the sandstone building that now houses the hall, kitchen, small group intervention rooms and our library. In 1926 a two-storey building, containing two classrooms was added and in the 1960s a three-classroom block was added. This meant the school operated in three separate buildings. In 1992 a major remodelling project saw the refurbishing of the sandstone building, demolition of the three-classroom block and five new classrooms built, joining all parts of the building together under one roof.
In 2017 Cheshire West and Chester council purchased the neighbouring bungalow for the school to facilitate a building programme. The expansion was completed in 2018 with the addition of 4 classrooms, small group rooms, office spaces, additional playground space, a multi use games area, an extended hall and a library area.
'Let Your Light Shine that people may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven'
