KS3 English and KS4 Drama Teacher job summary
We are seeking a highly driven and creative specialist English and Drama teacher to teach KS3 English and KS4 Drama throughout the school and across the full ability range. Attainment on entry to Corley Centre typically covers the full range of academic ability with the majority of students progressing to GCSE English in KS4. The post holder will work with the English Subject Leader to raise literacy standards throughout the school.
You will teach across the full National Curriculum and GCSE ability ranges and will be responsible for monitoring progress of your students and ensuring appropriate intervention to close any attainment gaps.
Teaching will involve Key Stage 3 English and Drama, Key Stage 4 GCSE Drama.
Depending on our requirements in September, you may also hold the role of Co-Pastoral Mentor to a group of approximately 10 students from Years 8 to 11. In addition to morning and afternoon registration sessions, this involves the teaching of two Mentor lessons following the school’s Mentoring Programme. Pastoral Mentors have the overview of each student’s personal and academic progress and monitor their behaviour and well-being, with support from a member of the School Leadership Team and the Family Support Worker.
