KS3 English Teacher part-time
The Governing Body wishes to appoint a KS3 English teacher to start in January 2020 to cover a maternity leave.
Standards are high and the school uses Accelerated Reader and STAR Reader to motivate and assess pupils. There are two other specialist English teachers in the KS3 team with a wealth of secondary teaching expertise. The school is participating in a national programme to deliver ‘English Mastery’ and the successful candidate will benefit from this CPD and practice.
Applications are welcome from people who:
• have qualified teacher status
• have experience of teaching KS3 English and possibly KS2 English
Essential educational requirements
Essential skills and experience
Ability to promote an innovative English curriculum covering all four middle school years
Ability to teach at least one other subject within the curriculum
Ability to use data to support learning, set targets and monitor and evaluate performance so leading to improved standards
Willingness to exploit new technologies to improve learning
Ability to work as part of an effective teamwork
Ability to involve parents, carers and interested others in the pupils' learning
