What skills and experience we're looking for
We are seeking to appoint for Easter 2023 an outstanding practitioner and a dynamic and inspirational teacher with a proven track record of raising standards of attainment in modern foreign languages. You will demonstrate vision, leadership qualities, management skills and the desire and commitment to lead a specialist team. You will also make languages exciting and relevant to the future of our pupils. We welcome applicants with any combination of languages, but especially Spanish and French.
In this role, you will use your up-to-date knowledge of developments in Modern Foreign Languages, as well as being an excellent classroom practitioner, to teach across the Key Stages to build and develop a creative approach within the school. You will be a team player with the right attributes and focus for the day-to-day pressures that teaching brings.
You will take a lead role within the Modern Foreign Languages department, working alongside colleagues to deliver the curriculum. The role will include the development of the KS4 scheme of work in line with new examination criteria, examination preparation, creating and sharing resources for KS4, and updating the student data spreadsheets, alongside undertaking observations of KS4 lessons. Leading by example, you will provide motivation and inspiration to both staff and students.

- To drive the vision for the MFL Curriculum Area
- Evaluate and improve Teaching & Learning
- Ensure the sharing of outstanding practice
- Use data effectively to track, monitor and evaluate pupil progress in KS4
- Plan and implement effective intervention to support all pupils to achieve highly
- Continue to develop a learning community
- Be committed to the school’s Christian values and ethos
