KS5 Lead for Maths job summary
Due to internal promotions, departmental restructuring and continual growth of our sixth form, The Bishop of Winchester Academy is seeking a passionate Maths specialist to join our thriving school as a KS5 Lead for Maths.
This will be an exciting opportunity to join a strong, stable and inspirational maths team with passionate leadership. Whatever your career stage you will be supported to develop further mathematical knowledge and to enhance your teaching tool kit so that our students are able to read, write and communicate as effective mathematicians.
Our Head of Maths would be delighted to take you on a tour of the school and give you the opportunity to meet the department and answer any questions you may have.
The post offers ample opportunities for an ambitious teacher to develop their skills, in addition to:
• A bespoke CPD programme including training and in department development time
• Excellent teaching facilities including brand new interactive smart boards and a newly refurbished library equipped with thousands of resources
• A robust behaviour system allowing teaching staff to deliver high quality learning opportunities to students
• School site in close proximity to beaches and the Jurassic Coast
• Cycle to work scheme
As KS5 Lead for Maths, you will join an established team to:
• Play a fundamental role in helping to move the Maths department to the next stage in its development
• Inspire students to have high expectations and to engage with learning
• Be able to teach A-Level & GCSE
• Be a positive role model and supportive mentor to students
