Appointment of Temporary Level 2 Teaching Assistant – Maternity cover starting Monday 20th February 2023

Grade 3 (19,650 - £20,043) pro rata

37 hours a week for 39 weeks of the year

The Governors of this forward-thinking school are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of class teachers to enable access to learning for all pupils. The post will initially be in Key Stage 2. The role will include working with individuals and small groups to deliver speech and language sessions and other interventions as well as working across classes within the team.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has high expectations of themselves and the children in their care
  • Has experience of working with children with SEND. Examples may include: Precision Teaching, speech and language, Attention Autism, Team Teach, phonics.
  • Is well organised and able to work well both as part of a team and independently
  • Has excellent communication skills and is able to forge close professional relationships with children, staff and parents
  • Is an effective and reflective practitioner with a desire to learn and develop
  • Is enthusiastic, with a positive, 'can-do' attitude
  • Has good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Has a minimum of NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualifications or experience
