Lay Chaplain job summary

Reporting directly to the Headteachers and supported by the Lead Lay Chaplain of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust, this role is central to fulfilling the Trust’s vision for chaplaincy. Experience in education or youth ministry is a strong advantage.

This is a permanent, full-time role (37 hours per week), but we’re happy to consider part-time, term-time, or flexible working arrangements for the right candidate.

Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Multi-Academy Trust unites 36 Catholic Primary and Secondary schools across Lincolnshire, Nottingham City, and Nottinghamshire.

The Oscar Romero Hub is a thriving family of schools serving Scunthorpe, Crowle, Brigg, Grimsby, and Cleethorpes. St Bede’s (Secondary) and its six surrounding primaries form a dynamic community where we aim to expand Chaplaincy provision to further enrich the lives of our students.

You will:

  • Hold or be working towards an appropriate level 4 or higher qualification.
  • Have the ability to create a nurturing environment with a commitment to bringing out the best in all students.
  • Play a vital role in helping to shape the experience and development of our students.
  • Have experience in education or youth ministry.
  • Be caring, supportive and committed to achieving excellent results.
  • Promote the well-being of our student’s providing guidance and support.
  • Be able to inspire learning and progress.
