Lead Digital Practitioner (Teacher of Computer Science) job summary

Lead Digital Practitioner (Teacher of Computer Science)

Start date: April or September 2024

Closing date: 18 February 2024

Location: Kettering Science Academy

Salary: L4 – L9

Hours per week: Full time, Permanent

We are seeking a talented and hardworking colleague to join our Computing and Business team as a Lead Digital Practitioner and KS5 Computer Science specialist. This is a new role which has been created to help us on the next stage of our development journey. KSA achieved an Ofsted 'Good' in July 2023, and we are now looking to consolidate and embed our practice where it matters most - in the classroom.

We are particularly interested in hearing from colleagues who have experience of coaching and mentoring others and who may have supported the implementation of EdTech, via Microsoft365 for Education. The successful candidate will play a leading role in helping shape our digital strategy as we look to embrace and embed digital teaching and learning tools across the curriculum. You will be joining a committed and ambitious team and will have the opportunity to teach at Key Stage 5 where our A level Computer Science course remains consistently popular.

You will be joining KSA at an exciting time and will be joining a Trust where there are plenty of opportunities for development and collaborative working across all schools within Brooke Weston Trust. We envisage that the role of Lead Digital Practitioner will work closely with the Associate Vice Principal who oversees curriculum, and this will give the successful candidate the opportunity to impact on the quality of education at a whole school level, as well as within the Computing and Business department itself.

We would encourage anyone interested in the role to contact our Associate Vice Principal, Kate Hayward, who would be delighted to talk with you about our vision and plans for the future, as well as share what we are looking for from the successful candidate.

What we can offer you:

Daily allowance for breakfast and lunch.

A modern building with fantastic facilities and resources.

A supportive and friendly community of staff and students.

A full induction programme.

Access to BWT Ambition Hub training and development programmes.
