Lead Early Years Practitioner (Nursery) job summary

At Ormiston Cliff Park Primary Academy, we are passionate about Early Years education. We are excited to be opening a new nursery provision for pupils aged 3yrs + in January 2025 and are seeking an outstanding EYFS Practitioner to join our brand-new nursery team. Our fantastic new nursery environment has been designed to support the highest quality provision for children.

We are looking for an outstanding Lead Early Years Practitioner, with a relevant or equivalent Level 6 EYFS qualification, who can help us to shape and develop our new nursery provision. Supported by our Reception-based EYFS Lead, you will be responsible for the day-to-day organisation and delivery of play, care and learning.

The role is based on 37 hours per week, for 39 working weeks per year (term time plus 1 week).

You will play a significant role in developing our provision as it expands and in ensuring that our nursery pupils receive the best possible start to their learning journey. As Lead Practitioner, you will play a key role in providing high quality teaching and ensuring that staff are effectively deployed and offer appropriate stimulation and support to the children. Alongside our EYFS Lead, you will support the development of our curriculum to ensure that our offer is inspiring and engaging for our young learners and support and enable the smooth transition between nursery and reception. You will develop strong community links to further build and promote essential successful home/nursery partnerships with our parents and carers.

Applicants must have a current/recent experience of working successfully within an EYFS setting and should possess a sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS curriculum and safeguarding procedures. Candidates should be really passionate about Early Years Education and committed to providing an outstanding quality of care and education for our children.
