Lead Exam Invigilator job summary
We are looking to recruit a Lead Exam Invigilator to support the Leader of Examinations with the smooth running of exams within the Academy. The main sessions of public examinations run during November, January, May and June however there are internal exams throughout the year in addition we are a school that runs GCSE, A-Level and BTEC courses.
Candidates should have an understanding of the formality and importance of the examinations e.g. exams are carried out according to the rules and regulations set out by the Joint Council of Qualifications. Essential requirements are: excellent organisational and interpersonal skills; the ability to handle situations in a calm and logical manner and to work independently as well as part of a team while supporting and taking direction from the Leader of Examinations.
This position would suit someone who is already working as an invigilator and is looking to step up and develop their skills in leading exams and taking on a more responsible role. You will carry out admin tasks and ensure the smooth running of exams in the exam room. You will have good availability during the week, being able to offer both a mixture of mornings and afternoons and have a basic understanding of IT.
Experience of working with students with access arrangements would also be considered beneficial.
