Lead IT Technician job summary

We are a unique, small, rural 11-16 academy in the beautiful setting of North-West Worcestershire. Our pupils are happy, well behaved and proud of their school. The academy has a strong vein of moral purpose where the child is at the heart of all we do. We invest in our pupils and our staff to ensure all are supported to be the best they can be.

The academy has recently undergone significant investment in its IT systems including brand new servers, switches, phones and access points and is in a strong position from an IT perspective. We are currently rolling out new interactive screens into our classrooms and have a rolling schedule for laptop replacement. We run two ICT suites which are well used for delivering the Computer Science and as a bookable resource for all subjects. The OAT central IT offer invaluable support and guidance both remotely and hands on as required.

We are looking for someone who can work independently and as part of a team; someone who is driven to provide an excellent support service to ensure our young people achieve excellent outcomes and to ensure our staff are able to do their job to the best of their abilities where ICT enhances what they can do. Training and support will be provided based on the successful postholder’s experience and skills. The roll is full time and all year round (37 hours per week / 52 weeks per year). Please see attached job description for further information.

Our new colleague will also benefit from being part of Ormiston Academies Trust, a MAT of 43 primary and secondary academies. The Trust’s vision is for all young people to have access to the highest academic, social and practical skills required to achieve their full potential. OAT support all staff so that they can enhance and develop their professional skills whatever their role within the trust.

Ormiston Academies Trust is an ethical sponsor, committed to improving the life chances of young people. We share their vision for all young people to have the highest academic, social and practical skills to allow them to lead a fulfilling life.

We would encourage all prospective candidates to visit the academy to tour and meet with other members of the staff and our pupils. Candidates are also encouraged you to visit our website, take a look at our Facebook page and email Christine Sheppard (csheppard@tenburyhigh.co.uk) if you have any specific questions or to book a tour of the school.

The closing date for applications is Monday 18th November 2024.
