Experience of working with pupils with Special Educational Needs
Good classroom practitioner with evidence of setting appropriate
expectations to advance learning by engaging and motivating pupils.
Experience of effective assessment techniques, including PIVATS or
similar assessments.
Knowledge and understanding of the national curriculum.
Knowledge of how to give positive and targeted support to pupils with a
range of needs.
Ability to differentiate tasks appropriately.
Ability to use appropriately a range of teaching and learning strategies for
whole classes, individuals and groups which stimulate and challenge
pupils.
Ability to set clear and appropriate targets, feed back to pupils and make
effective use of assessment to promote progress.
Good time management skills.
Up-to-date ICT skills to enhance teaching & learning.
Ability to work as part of an effective team showing enthusiasm,
adaptability and flexibility.
Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to reflect on own practice.

Bleasdale School caters for children and young adults aged 2-19 years, with profound and multiple learning disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and/or a diagnosis of autistic spectrum condition aged 2-19 and pride ourselves on supporting pupils and their families through pivotal transitions of their life from portage, nursery, primary, secondary, Post 16 and beyond. The therapeutic curriculum has been carefully crafted within learning journeys to adulthood. Strong multiagency working is weaved into specialist teaching and learning, mirrored by the dedicated school spaces that include: Hydro-Pool facilities, Rebound, Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) green spaces, PE and performance hall (to name but a few). The building holds strong coaching culture at the heart of what we do supporting everyone to be the best person they can be.
