About the Lead of Chemistry Role
As the Lead of Chemistry, you will manage the team of Chemistry teachers within the Science department and report to the Head of Science. Your responsibilities will include developing the Chemistry curriculum across all Key Stages (KS3-5) to meet student needs and ensuring students’ academic performance in Chemistry aligns with Academy targets.,
Some of the additional roles the successful candidate will undertake/ be responsible for includes (but is not limited to):
- Keeping up to date and react to national changes in the subject
- Disseminating information, knowledge and research material relevant to the specialist area
- Selecting and sourcing appropriate resources to enhance the delivery of the subject
- Arranging the examination entries with the Academy’s examination officer and subsequent analysis of examination results
- Leading Quality Assurance (QA) within chemistry
- Monitoring student progress across all Key Stages (KS3-5) and take appropriate action with any student not meeting their target grades
