Lead practitioner for primary curriculum and teacher development job summary
We are looking to recruit an outstanding teacher to work as a lead practitioner for primary curriculum and teacher development across all primary schools within our Trust.
The support you offer our leaders and teachers will be vital in ensuring that all our primary schools achieve the same successes. Sitting within a school improvement team led by a national director, this is a perfect role for those who are either currently in senior leadership positions and want wider experience before applying for their next step in school leadership, or those already in leadership positions who are looking for a change. The post is most suitable for an outstanding teacher who still very much loves working with children and doesn’t see this as an opportunity to get out of the classroom.
Regular travel across the OAT network is a requirement of the post and it is likely that you will be away from home for one night a week, occasionally two. Travel and accommodation expenses are covered by the Trust. Ideally you will live within 20 miles of an OAT academy (see attached map for our locations).
The successful candidate will:
*be an outstanding teacher with a proven track record of securing sustained excellent outcomes
*have up to date knowledge of current curriculum thinking and the new Ofsted framework
*have a strong grasp of EYFS and KS1
*have a proven record in school improvement at middle or senior leadership level
*have a highly effective style that is both consultative and influential
*be able to demonstrate resilience, motivation and commitment to driving up standards of achievement
Commitment to safeguarding
OAT is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the expectation is that all staff will share this commitment. Therefore, the successful applicant will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS and barred list check.
