This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding teacher or a teacher who aspires to be outstanding. The successful applicant will be passionate about developing a powerful learning experience for students, and motivated by having an impact inside the classroom.
• Support the ethos, values and overall purpose of the Academy
• Raise standards and the profile of Humanities across the Academy
• Support the Curriculum Leader in whole department and whole school initiatives
• Collaborate with the Curriculum Leader, in order to identify groups of students at risk of underachieving and support in the provision of impactful teaching and learning strategies
• Lead the development of resources for teaching
• Lead on curriculum design and schemes of work
• Regularly lead the evaluation of the curriculum through staff and student voice
• Support the Curriculum Leader in the monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning
• Develop colleagues through effective coaching and mentoring strategies
• Contribute to staff training and the sharing of best practice and pedagogy
• Develop links with external agencies which enhance the effectiveness of the department
• Organise trips, workshops and enrichment activities
The role is offered with a TLR package to be discussed with the Principal following interview.
