Shaping great teaching to transform outcomes is at the heart of this role. At Neale Wade Academy in March, we are looking for a Lead Practitioner in Maths who will help raise the quality of teaching across the academy. This role is about modelling excellent practice, coaching colleagues with warmth and clarity, and using insight from data to drive meaningful improvement. It suits someone who combines deep subject expertise with a collaborative spirit, high expectations and a genuine belief that great teaching changes lives. If you want to help others grow while keeping pupils’ progress at the centre, we would love to hear from you.

We welcome applications from existing Lead Practitioners, or from suitably experienced candidates who wish to work towards Lead Practitioner accreditation, with support provided.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Model consistently high‑quality teaching, producing resources and demonstrating practice that supports excellent learning.
  • Lead coaching, mentoring and training to develop colleagues’ teaching practice and support appraisal processes.
  • Use data to identify teaching and pupil needs, implementing targeted strategies to raise achievement.
  • Coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities, including observations, learning walks and work scrutinies, to inform improvement planning.
  • Research and share best practice, leading on high‑quality professional development across the academy and Trust.
